I would like to end this talk with a vision about the short-term and long-term future of UDT.
At the moment, UDT is a practical solution to transfer bulk data in distributed data intensive applications. But we will not stop here, we will inject new technologies into UDT as they appear. Because of the high cost of upgrading network equipments, there will always be a long time lag between up-to-date network technologies and the real Internet. We expect that UDT can offer the advantage of fast deployment at user space. In this way, we also expect that UDT can be used as a research platform for new technologies in network transport protocols.
Finally, because UDT is open source and open standard, it will also accept contributions from outside.
